#me too

Me Too movement, based on sexual misconduct and sexual assault. Me too spread virally in October 2017 as a hashtag used on social media is an attempt to demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual harassment, especially in the workplace. It followed a very rapid pace after allegation of sexual misconduct and assault of Hollywood producer 'Harvey Weinstein'. The movement gained its pace in India after actress Ms Tanu Shree Dutta's allegation of sexual harassment by actor Nana Patekar on a film set ten years ago. According to recent news, there is Involvement of some political persons like Mr M.J Akbar, accused of sexual assault by a journalist and also more then 10 women accused Mr Akbar of sexual misconduct.

The aim of #Me Too movement is to speak about sexual harassment, which they (women) have been suffering from a long time by their employer or their colleagues at their workplace. Rising of such type of movement in any country shows the weakness of government machinery and also shows that people have no faith in the country's police force and in administration. So women are using the path of social media to get justice.

#  free and fair trial necessary

As whatever could be the allegation by concerned women, it may not be always true, but the accused should face the trial and the judgement would decide whether the allegation was right or wrong. My sympathy is always with those ones, those were suffering without committing any misconduct.

# why me too?

As movement found its pace in India, the country which is known as the largest democracy of the world where every person has the right to freedom and express his or her views freely. But after witnessing such movement in India shows, even in 21st-century women are fighting to get justice. As the machinery of government especially the police, nowadays become so inhuman, that instead of working for the welfare of the public, they are working under the influence of politician and famous personality. The government should ensure some effective measure so that the people of country especially women can faith in the government machinery.

#Conclusion

We see these days, especially after the present government came in power, they always talk about women empowerment. There are various schemes started by the present government to empower the women, like BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO,  SUKANYA SAMRIDHI YOJANA, PRADHAN MANTRI JAN DHAN YOJANA, etc. also some entrepreneurial schemes for the emancipation and empowerment of women. Despite all these schemes and movement, if the government would focus on the protection of women on working place then, all those schemes would play a better role. In my opinion, the government should first ensure the protection of women from sexual misconduct and harassment at the workplaces. If women of our country will be safe, only then the empowerment works.
