Gender Wage Disparity In India

Gender wage disparity meant the wage gap between genders by considering the work of one gender as superior (male) another as inferior (female).

In case of India, wage disparity is prevalent from historical times as females were considered as inferior, inefficient and ineligible as compared to man in working areas whether its industrial sector, scientific sector, political sector, film sector, IT sector and many other areas too.

What leads disparity in wages is their softness, compassion and notwithstanding strongly with their cause, as they always preferred compromise and this compromise led them ahead in wage disparity in every sector. For instance, everyone is well aware of (Bollywood) cinematography of India ask yourself honestly, have you ever heard any blockbuster movie which given more credit to female actress, either in the case of popularity, recognition or rewarding. They are always seen in our country as subordinate to the male-dominated society.

Earlier there was a report that held the female is not taking enough interest in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and Research and Development (R&D). Actually, they are not getting enough opportunity in these fields, their parents, peer groups and society are restricting them from pursuing their carrier in these fields because society only wants to see them as a teacher, nurses and occupation that develops compassion, love and submissiveness in them. It wants to treat them as subordinate to men, friendly to society and always gave them a position of wives and mothers. Society actually suppresses their talent and not let the females show and prove their bravery in areas which increases their value in society, country and world.

Since, we all well aware, if the female population of our country will get enough opportunity, unbiased environment and free society from derogatory and inhuman treatment, they will boost our economy rapidly and by joining them, the workforce of our country increase with the fastest pace, which would also help in achieving our respected PM's goal of $ 5trillion economy of India by 2024-25.

However, government, private institutions and many foundations which work for the empowerment of women are coming forward to stop unreasonable prejudices, stereotypes and denigrate system which was prevailing from ancient times and providing women immense opportunities to fulfil and realise their dream in every sector by their effort, hard work and conscience.
