Present Destruction And Devastation would bring Disastrous Future
Recently we have seen protests across India either for demanding the right to free expression or protest against government action, policies acts, initiatives or programmes. The protest across India regarding NRC, NPR and, CAA is going on with the full potential to destroy and exploit the life of general public either in the form of Bharat Bandh or the form of Market Bandh, Vehicles Bandh or any other type of strike too.
I'm not reminding the pros and cons of any strike, protest and dissent towards government or any other organisation. As an Environmentalist and citizen of India, I must remind every citizen of my country about the prospect of growing new and most catastrophic problem which affect every person, whatever be its religion or caste, it means that the problem which is I'm telling is universal. For instance, if any disease is affecting everyone without identifying its religion or its country then it means that the disease is extremely disastrous.
Now the new problems are polluted air, water and overall atmosphere. These are the global issues which arising with rapid pace, the deteriorating environment by man-made activities, either in the form of the growing population, establishing new industries or by overgrazing of lands, decreasing agricultural land for new houses for increasing population. The rapidity which we have adopted to destroy to increase human presence would bring disastrous consequences.
There is a saying, ''if we pollute nature beyond its cleaning capacity, it would bring disastrous results''.
Every corner of the World is burning today either in the form of protest, strike, dissent or displeasure towards their concerned country. The recent example of burning of forests in Australia, protests by young girl Greeta Thumberg against US government and appeal to the world community to not doing enough to mitigate the growing pollution, declining climate due to release of the excess of carbon dioxide in the environment which is the most pressing problem of 21st century, bringing unexpected disease and destroying the lives of new infants, innocent and common peoples of the planet. What could be the solution?
We always protest whenever we felt that our rights are getting curbed by government or when we do not get as much as importance as we should. Now the time has come when we have to also realise our duties which the constitution of India entitled to us. It's very important and required to be conscious regarding our right, which is also enforceable by the Supreme Court of India if violated. If we fail to deliver our duties to our country then it's shameful for us to demand to protest for our rights.
I'm not against those who are fighting for their rights, protesting for their life or trying to keep their identity, culture, tradition, values and norms safe and preserve for the generation to come. These might be their private concerns but days are gone to protest for religion or caste as the problem changed with changing time, now the problem is not to save religion instead to save a human being, since the growing environmental problems nature itself deteriorating with greater pace if we would not give much importance to the climate of our planet at this moment, then we would not be able to to save our self, our future generation and our green planet.
Now, let's take the example of oxygen, Indian cities are the most polluted cities of the world, the capital, New Delhi is itself is most polluted capital of any country of the world. There is no pure air to inhale, no safe water to drink, health conditions of Indian under severe conditions, millions of peoples are not able to manage twice a meal daily, even after experiencing such starving conditions neither the government nor the citizens of the country giving due attention to improving the conditions of poor, marginalised and deprived ones.
However, my intention was not to deliver a message of stop protesting against the government or any other concerned organizations. My aim in this article to make you aware about the Gandhian ways of protest and dissent in the present situation against the government without destroying public assets or becoming hurdles of the general public and keep demanding our demand in peacefully and harmoniously manner since we know our country having diverse and plural in character, having different sect, religion it means there would be different views regarding different matters but we have not to forget that we are the epitome of peace and harmony in the world whose base wast established by our father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Hence, the time has gone when people used to protest for their religion and caste. This is the time when we all have to come together to protect our planet save it from growing pollution, degrading environment and pass this safe, secure and natural green planet to next generation as what our forefather did for us.
