Artificial Intelligence & Its Impact on India
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi himself reiterated at many platforms and one of them at Defence Expo 2018 mentioned new and emerging technology like Artificial Intelligence and Robotics will perhaps be the most important determinants of defensive and offensive capabilities for any defence force in the future.
Artificial Intelligence is computer intelligence or we can say computer trying to mimic human behaviour or machine trying to act like humans. The overarching view is that the computer trying to wrap almost every tiny to huge labour, jobs and duties which is earlier performed by human being now overtaken by computer. Whether its automobile sector, defence sector, medical sector, transportation sector, agriculture sector, etc are all covered under AI.
For conducting efficient and effective performance by artificial intelligence, required research and analysis at an enormous level. Right procedure and programming really required for better result and accuracy from AI.
Different countries of the world investing a generous amount of money for deploying artificial intelligence in every sector of the country, the first and foremost country in this band is China, investing more than $30 Billion to become the leading country in AI systems. The US too spending approximately the same amount of money to enhance its presence in AI S systems.
There are rumours about that it may reduce the jobs of human beings, as it defined as "computer trying to act like human beings ". Since the country like India where still a large chunk of the population is illiterate or can be said semi-literate, they perceive that AI system would not sustain in our country, the reason behind it that Indian lack skill and knowledge which required to run the AI system in our country. But these are totally flawed argument, instead of killing jobs AI would generate jobs, but at the same time, it requires high skill and knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
There are several arguments by which we can prove that technology always acts as a boon for country and its citizens. For instance, when E-ticket was introduced by railways, there was speculation that the ticketing by computer would kill jobs which were earlier performed by humans. Now we can see that how e-ticketing is running smoothly without harming more to humans job actually it created new job with technical skill.
Every technology have hiccups
