Leadership Abilities

As usually dealing with employees, the organization required efficient and effective leadership to maintain the trust of workers and employees working and employed in the organization to benefit from their potential to achieve excellence in economic terms.

Leadership did not come naturally or born qualities or values. We have to learn leadership abilities, values, skill and expertise after going through many hurdles of leadership vertigo. Only experience, past incidents and circumstances could guide us to learn leadership values.

Best way to develop, build and cultivate leadership abilities is by the experience of successful leaders, who are the epitome of the leadership of many newcomers. By learning about their lives experiences many things could be learned.

Perhaps leadership is one of the most complex words whose meaning never had a clear or straight forward understanding.

This could be understood, feel and can be seen only through the lens of other's experience lives such as Bill Gates from the US, Jack Ma from China and Mukesh Ambani from India.

They all have not only struggled to achieve the pinnacle they thought or deserve but they also develop strategies and methods to cultivate diligence, hard work and honesty in their employees towards their work and their employer.

To further understand leadership and to become a strong, helpful and caring leader, require some values to imbibe in our day to day life.

Five Important Principles

First and foremost in this list build community, here building community means building an environment where people could give their best, require a sense of belonging and a sense of community. This will begin with respect and recognition. Effective leaders celebrate when others succeed.

Second, develop competence, means your energy level and emotions are contagious and transmissible. The way you relate to others directly impacts results. Your team members will take their cues from the energy and attitude you bring to the table.

Third, earn credibility, credibility requires trust, confidence and assurance. Authenticity and self-awareness are paramount to establish that trust. Too many leadership "skills" are merely techniques that are perceived as gimmicks by employees because they aren't real.

Fourth, compassion requires courage and vulnerability to listen, understand and act. Wise leaders learn about others by asking questions. Serving others with genuine concerns for their well being creates meaning.

Fifth and the last one be philanthropic helping poor, needy and deprived creates a different image in your employees, society and community also among the global world. This could surely attract people to work for you genuinely positive attitude and keep your business growing.

How to deal with your employees?

Employees needed appreciation, praise and recognition so that their morale could be upgraded and they always tackle their problems and works with a positive attitude.

Don't ever try to make mistakes like insulting employees or using insane words which hurts their self-respect. Because this could be fatal for your organization since an employee usually connected with fellow employee, share problems, happiness and work. If a single employee hurt or felt unconsciousness because of unexpected insult would harm your organization as well as create misconception and bad impression among others.

Even if your employee committed any mistake let them appreciate not for the mistake but for at least they tried but failed. Applaud them by saying next time you might achieve the desire results you were expecting in the earlier case.

Usually, leaders did not get enough time to connect and to meet their employees at workplaces. But they must talk to them about their work, grievances and further progress regarding the organization to let them feel that belong to this organization and have the same value and worth as the owner.

Treat them as that they are not only employees working for 6 to 8 hours per day. But foster feeling among them that they are also the family member of the organization such appreciation could encourage them to work more enthusiastically. Industry or organization is thriving only because of their hard work, sacrifices and dedication through which they kept assisting industry to grow.

 Avoid Criticising Employees

When you criticize someone, you make it harder for that person to change. Managers should keep this in mind, particularly during performance reviews keep in mind when you criticize someone you develop negative thoughts, but when you appreciate someone you develop positive thoughts.

As Daniel Goleman said " You need the negative focus to survive, but a positive one to thrive. You need both but in the right ratio".

As Buddhist Monk Maha Ghosonadra said " If you move through the world only with your intellect, then you walk only with one leg. If you move through the world only with your compassion, then you walk only on one leg. But if you move through the world with both your intellect and compassion, then you have wisdom ".

Finally, charity works are the novel idea which every leader must cultivate in themselves, it not only appreciate or applaud them but also enhances their stature among people whom they lead, guide and accompany.

I'm not saying that these leadership principles are a silver bullet. Instead, I want you to think them as a guide to conduct your daily activities and to a powerful way of being. This is important because the truth about leadership in today's organization is that it's no longer way of commanding; it's a way of being.
